History of JE Mondejar Computer College
Businessman and socio-civic leader Jose Rene E. Mondejar and his wife Lucita Dublas Mondejar established JE Mondejar Computer School in Tacloban City in 1990 as the pioneering private computer school in the region. The school initially offered short-term Electronic Data Processing modular courses to private companies and government agencies as well as individuals who needed to learn the software programs that were revolutionizing the workplace. Separate programs were created for students and children who attended the school to learn about computers.
In 1993, JE Mondejar Computer School started offering associate programs like Computer Secretarial and Computer Technology. In 1995, conscious of the steady growth of JE Mondejar Computer School, the board of trustees changed the name of the institution to JE Mondejar Computer College. The new name reflected the new organizational structure as well as the expanded mission and vision of the school. That same year, Mondejar began offering its flagship programs Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Management.
Mondejar continued its growth in 2000 with the additional offering of associate programs such as the Food Preparation and Service Technology, Computer Hardware Technology, PC Operations, and Computer Hardware Servicing. The institution underwent another metamorphosis with its change of name to JE Mondejar Computer College in 2007. Beginning 2008, the pre-elementary, elementary, and high school departments were simultaneously established for families who wanted an education steeped in rigor and relevance for their children
Today, JE Mondejar Computer College continues its commitment to an education for global responsibility and citizenship by providing its students with the best facilities , qualified and dedicated educators, and continuously revised curricula that reflects world-class standards. Services and equipments are continuously being improved in keeping with the latest global developments. The construction of the new school buildings in its sprawling campus in Naga-Naga Village, Tacloban City is nearing completion and will be the permanent home to Mondejar's burgeoning community.
