Dear Donors and Friends,

One hundred days after super typhoon Yolanda hit parts of the Philippines that brought massive destruction to lives and properties in the Visayas particularly in Tacloban city, people in most areas are still groping in the dark. The school of Minerva's parents was among those weren't spared from the brunt of the typhoon, displacing students, teachers, and workers of Mondejar Foundation College.

The best Christmas present for the children in Tacloban

Four weeks ago, super typhoon Yolanda (international code name: Haiyan) raced through central Philippines. More than 7,000 people to date are confirmed dead. Most of these deaths came from Tacloban, the hardest hit area and considered as ground zero for Yolanda. Yolanda created storm surges reaching 8 meters high along the coastal areas, causing the most casualties. Cars were piled on top of one another, cargo ships ended up on villages, and some areas wiped out to become a veritable wilderness.

Typhoon Haiyan

Dear Friends of JE Mondejar Computer College, 

Minerva and I have decided to make a personal appeal for donations. We learned after days of hope and fear, that Minerva's parents survived typhoon Haiyan. Fortunately the main building of their school has also withstood the brunt of the storm. We are still waiting to find out which relatives, friends, students and teachers have survived.
